Operation Christmas Child 2009
Here are parts of the fruit of our last blog: boxes for Operation Christmas Child. Makana enjoyed buying the contents and packing them (and unpacking them, and then packing them, . . . ) for children in another part of the world. We hope to know where it ends up, as there is a tracking option, so we can pray more specifically for the children. Perhaps this event can become an annual project--hold a garage sale and then pack our boxes! :)
Makana will also send her gifts to the two adoption agencies soon, as a Christmas gift. It's been fun prepping her heart for Christmas this year by reading Mary's First Christmas and One Wintry Night (along with the Bible). Hopefully Stephen's getting something out of the stories as well while he nibbles on toys. :)
It was fun to see Makana's reaction at the end of Mary's First Christmas, for she wanted to know the rest of the story. I told her it comes with the Easter story, and she wanted to add it to her book. She then said that maybe the author wrote another book to come after the one she has, like her Pinkalicious and Purplicious ones! Oh, how little minds work! :)

Love the photo and how you are training our children to look outward more than inward.
Love,
Dave
This time last week I was getting ready to go to Atlanta to work at one of the distribution centers. My mom, sister, Carley and I go every year to Atlanta to work in the process center. This past Wednesday boxes from Atlanta went to Pakistan.
