Looking wholeheartedly?

If you look for me [God] wholeheartedly, you will find me.
Jeremiah 29.13

Makana's deliberately been looking for Baby Jesus all season, asking why Jesus is a baby. One day as we were decorating the chapel, she dragged Dave to see Baby Jesus in the hay. Dave explained to her that Jesus came as a person to be able to walk a perfect life on earth to die for our sins--how we disobey God. He also rose from the dead so that we could have hope. If we believe in him, we are forgiven.

Wow! Abstract stuff!

The next day as we were driving around, running errands, Makana spotted another manger scene.

Makana: "Look, Mommy! I see Baby Jesus!"

Mommy: "Yes, Makana."

Makana: "Mommy, you're forgiven because of Jesus."

What's your work?

"My daddy's a chap-yain!"

College Life Revisited

When Dave played rugby at Wentworth, his team practiced in this area, but it wasn't yet a field. It was an abandoned parking lot with loose gravel--ugh! Each time we return to Boston, he looks at this nicely groomed field and imagines what practice would have been like if only they had had a REAL field. He has lasting memories of his time in Boston.

Dave put his architect major to work last month by building Makana a doll house. I guess those pics will go into another blog entry. :)

Looking for Champ

Supposedly we Americans don't need to look for the Loch Ness Monster, for we have our very on "Champ" to seek on Lake Champlain. It was a gloomy day, and we looked for this obscure creature to no avail. However, we did take in the scenery and enjoy the company. :)

Reunited

On our way to the Manchester, NH airport, Jon reminded Dave that our friends from seminary and Crossroads to the Nations Church now live in Boston. Thank you, Krista, for Dan and Mandira's phone number! We were able to visit, catch up, and pray with our dear friends. We miss them so much and are encouraged by their hearts to help people grow in love with Jesus. Thank you, Dan BK and Mandira, for your passion! :)

Shhh! Don't tell AJ!

AJ is now in kindergarten, so he couldn't join the toddlers on their day excursions that were fun. On the morning before leaving New England, we spent our time at the park and zoo. The cousins had a fun time, and we imagined what it would be like to actually live near our relatives someday. :)
