Looking Back . . .

Almost one year ago, Jung Min took these pics at the chapel's Fall Festival. Unfortunately, Dave was working that night to see his little cow in action. Makana loved ringing her cow bell. No, we didn't receive any royalties from Chic-Fil-A. :)

Papa's Visit

Makana thoroughly enjoyed her visit with her grandfather. She was thrilled to sit on the "ay-pane" to take pics. :)

Serra's family also welcomed Dad for the duration of his stay. Her father and mine were hang-out buddies at our graduation, and it continued here. :)

Dad was a good sport about wearing a tie in a no-tie restaurant. :) He didn't even ask me any questions when I handed it to him and told him to put it on. The Old West atmosphere of the restaurant is incongruent with stuffy ties, so as you can see in the last picture, every tie of anyone who dares to sport one while dining there is cut off.

Fruit Frolicking :)

In the tropics, we don't have the opportunity to go to apple and asian pear orchards and pumpkin patches to harvest these autumnal fruits. During Jeff and Lisa's recent visit, we were able to do just that--in the desert, of all places! :) We made some apple pie and apple cake and just ate the apples and pears fresh--yummy! :p Lisa was enthralled by the tomatoes and peppers, and she made some great salsa with shrimp. Makana enjoyed picking the fruit, too, including her first pumpkin from a patch (b/c last year we were rained out), but I think her favorite tasks were carrying the bucket and pushing the wheelbarrow across the field.

Oh--the one pic that isn't in the field is taken right after playing in our little pool. She was cold and wanted to have the blanket cover her. Also, that toy is one of her favorites now, as she loves fitting the different shapes into their respective holes. Actually, I think she loves "cheating" even better by placing the flower in the circle and saying, "No, no! Hee, hee!"

Happy 28th, Johnny! :)

I remember the day you were born--quite distinctly. We four eldest siblings were home together, and Leonard decided to serenade us with his rendition of "Home on the Range" because he was so excited to have a brother! There was never a dull moment with your creative dressing and interesting ways of doing things. Which reminds me, if anyone has pictures they'd like to contribute to this blog that would fit the description, feel free to send them my way. :)

We love you, Johnny, John-Boy, Jack, etc. :) We are thankful you were born.
