Happy Birthday, Zayne! :)

It looks as though you had a great first birthday celebration. We wished we could have been there, but we are glad you had fun!

How can one resist?

It takes everything in me to resist a "Please!" like this! Sometimes Makana just cannot have more of something, but she looks so cute that I would like to waver. However, with her strong personality, I try to remain a stalwart one in my resolve to help her understand meaningful boundaries. Whew! That is soooo difficult at times!

Horses in Striped Pajamas

The zebras were in rare form the other day. Actually, just the 3 month-old girl fit that description. She was prancing about the field, excited just to be alive. I should live with that exuberance, celebrating the life that God has given me!

Thanks to Mysti . . .

As is typical of most children, Makana loves to hear her books read over and over and over and over . . . . Two of her favorite books are from her cousin Mysti: TAILS and GOODNIGHT, GORILLA! Mysti's sister Jo has become Makana's favorite person to request the reading of the latter. Sorry and thanks, Jo, but you do a great job! :)

A HOT Day in the Park

For the Month of the Military Child, the base had a celebration at the park. Makana tried to rearrange the course for toddlers, created a collage, planted a flower, and acquired some fun things like the wooden truck that she can paint.

She tried a hot dog for the first time and somewhat liked it. I think she still prefers her tofu. :)

Fun in the Children's Museum

Exploring the Children's Museum was a fun adventure for Makana. :) She especially liked climbing on the inclines.

Zoo Two

For Karis, who LOVES giraffes:
Makana could not stop thinking about feeding the giraffe throughout the day. We would ask her what she did with the giraffe, and she would say, "Mum Mum!" and push her head up (to indicate a giraffe--our own sign language of the long-necked creature).
