A 2 Year-Old's Interpretation of the ND Fight Song

Three, three, four old Notre Dame!
Wake up the etoes three her name!
Send a volleyball high!
Shake down the funder from the sky!

(Of course, singing it at the top of her lungs!)

More of Makana's Thoughts

As we approach our subdivision, Makana asks:

Makana: Mommy, what's your good reason to go in the 2nd entrance?
Mommy: There are no cars parked in the way.
Makana: Oh, I want the 3rd entrance.
Mommy: What is your good reason to go in the 3rd entrance?
Makana: Because there are no cars and I want to go in the 3rd entrance!

***********
Makana: I don't want to ride in Daddy's big, blue truck today.
Mommy: Why not?
Makana: Because I don't want to.
Mommy: Well, what is your good reason?
after a pause . . .
Makana: I don't have a good reason (shrugging her shoulders).

***********
Mommy: Would you like Cheerios or the mango cereal (granola) for breakfast?
Makana: I prefer the cereal today.
Mommy: Oh, you prefer the cereal?
Makana: Yup. I don't care for the Cheerios right now.

************

A Domer's daughter at a local high school game:

Makana: Where are the Irish?
Mommy: In Indiana.
Makana: Oh. Is there a touchdown?
Mommy: Not yet.
Makana: I want to dance!
Mommy: What do you want to dance?
Makana: The "jag."
Mommy: Oh, the jig? :)
Makana: Yes!

***************

Just now, as I type:

Makana: Here, I'll take care of you. Go forward (pushes my head down and rubs my back). I rub your opu (stomach).
Mommy: Thank you, but my opu is in the front.
Makana: Oh (flinging my head back). Now I'll rub your opu.

We ARE ND! :)

Go Irish! Yeah! I hope today's win is a precurser to the rest of the season.
